Cello Health’s “Experience First” named one of the most innovative services of 2017 by PM360
PM360, a leading trade magazine for marketing decision makers in the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and diagnostics industries, has named Cello Health Insight’s Experience First as one of the most innovative services of 2017.
Experience First is a user experience + design research strategy that focuses on users of a treatment, product and/or service, within a real world context that factors in environments and systems within which they live and work. It moves well beyond traditional voice-of-the-consumer activities and enables a deeper understanding of the needs, behaviors, and emotional drivers of healthcare stakeholders across the care delivery spectrum to yield insights that directly inform strategic investment, design, and delivery of products and services that go “beyond the pill.”
Experience First integrates qualitative and ethnographic research techniques with design principles, including the thoughtful use of stimuli, prototypes, and simulations, to uncover insights that are elusive to traditional market research approaches alone.
Though user experience design research has been around for some time in the consumer industry, it is a new (and often unfamiliar) practice in the healthcare and pharmaceutical market research space. The creation of this unique offering at Cello Health Insight began in at the beginning of this year with the hiring of Ed Geiselhart and Jenn Schindel, PhD. Geiselhart is an accomplished advocate for user centered design and the power of design thinking to make a meaningful difference in helping clients bring innovation to the market. He has nearly 25 years of consulting experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, with a focus on connecting user insights with business decisions, marketing strategy, innovation planning, and device design. Schindel has been at the forefront of healthcare technology innovation for over 10 years. She is a recognized leader dedicated to healthcare transformation through care delivery redesign, technology innovation, optimized consumer engagement, organizational improvement, and value-based care. She has provided invaluable consulting advice for healthcare innovation labs, academic medical centers, pharmaceutical/medical device/diagnostics companies, healthcare investors and digital health startups.
Experience First was selected as part of PM360’s 6th Annual Innovations Issue published each December. This issue was established to serve as a guide to the year’s most innovative Companies, Startups, Divisions, Products, Services, and Strategies from within the healthcare and life sciences industries. This comprehensive overview of the year’s most innovative achievements in these six categories helps other companies in the industry to find potential partners and offerings that can help them advance healthcare and life sciences.
“Each of this year’s selections showcases our industry’s strong desire to constantly find new ways to advance every sector of life sciences from development to marketing to philanthropy and much more,” says Anna Stashower, CEO/Publisher of PM360. “We are excited to showcase these innovative achievements and help get the word out about companies and offerings that help made the job easier for other working in our industry.”
PM360 received hundreds of submissions from across the healthcare and life sciences industries. The editorial staff of PM360 evaluated each submission and selected their picks for the most innovative, regardless of category. Ultimately, the final selections represent the most exciting innovations from 2017.
